Key Achievements:
  • Over 15 years of investment banking and six years of private equity experience primarily serving privately held, middle market companies
  • Broad transaction experience including: venture capital, growth financing, IPO, M&A, management buyouts, recapitalization, and reorganizations
  • Closed more than 100 transactions as an advisor and has made seven private equity investments. Transactions total more than $2 billion cumulatively

Jeffrey is not only a trusted business advisor to privately-held companies, but he has also been an investor and business owner himself. He has spent his entire career advising and investing in middle-market companies. As a result, he is able to identify with the participants in a transaction, understand the priorities and concerns, and propose a solution that creates value for everyone. His experience includes angel investments, venture investments, recapitalizations, Employee Stock Ownership Program (ESOP) implementations, IPOs, acquisitions, divestitures, and distressed transactions.

Prior to joining Allegiance Capital, Jeffrey helped start Kipp, Reese, Koldyke & Company (“KRK”). KRK was a merchant bank founded by the head of Bank of America’s consumer products and retail investment banking practice, the global general manager of Wilson Sporting Goods’ golf business, and a general partner from a $1 billion private equity fund. KRK was founded to advise public and private middle-market companies and make principal investments in select opportunities. The firm was particularly strong in: niche consumer goods and services; sports, recreation and leisure products and services; specialty manufacturing and distribution; and for-profit education. In addition to advising clients, Jeffrey participated in investments in apparel, men’s grooming, women’s accessories, and for-profit education.

In 2006, KRK split into two organizations, and Jeffrey became a founding member of Prometheus Capital. Prometheus continued KRK’s tradition of serving the middle market. Jeffrey headed up transaction execution for the new merchant bank and was instrumental in selling a Vancouver-based bundled services provider for 13x EBITDA and an acquisition of a $300 million distressed staffing company out of bankruptcy (a 363 process).

Prior to KRK, Jeffrey was a Senior Associate at Valuemetrics, Inc./VM Equity Partners, a Chicago investment banking boutique focused on privately-held, middle-market companies. Valuemetrics specialized in ownership transition strategies for closely-held companies and ESOP implementations. Jeffrey was responsible for founding the firm’s technology and life sciences practice. Jeffrey also has held positions with William Blair & Co. and Banc One Capital Corporation.

Jeffrey earned an MBA with Distinction from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University and a BS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
