As founder and CEO of Aquarian Capital, Johann Tse brings passion and extensive
experience to helping companies across many industries transform through
mergers, acquisitions and direct investments between the US, Europe and Greater
China. He primarily brings middle-market American and European companies to
China through M&A or partnerships with Chinese counterparts, and helps
progressive Chinese companies internationalize through overseas acquisitions or
direct investments.
Prior to founding Aquarian Capital, Johann Tse was Director for international M
& A with Yum! Brands, where he successfully led acquisitions, divestitures and
franchising transactions across its quick service restaurants portfolio in
multiple countries. He previously created and managed the corporate venture
capital program for Rohm and Haas Company focusing on new materials and
material-enabled technologies, and helped broaden the Company's avenue for
growth, in addition to corporate strategic planning and M & A
responsibilities.
Mr. Tse began his career with Swire Group, a British/Hong Kong
conglomerate, where he assumed increasing general management responsibilities
in various countries, including marketing Coca-Cola products in Hong Kong,
turning around a snack foods business in China, and establishing a profitable
limousine services company in Hong Kong. He was also in charge of Swire Group's
government relations, corporate development and overall strategies for China,
where he established 13 companies across numerous industries.
Mr. Tse was the founding Deputy Chairman of the Hong Kong
Chamber of Commerce in Shanghai, sat on the board of the British Chamber of
Commerce in Shanghai, and was an Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Chamber of
Commerce in China. He graduated with distinction from The Chinese University of
Hong Kong in Electronics Engineering and has an MBA from INSEAD in
Fontainebleau, France.
He is a frequent guest speaker at international M&A and investment conferences.
He served as a judge for Dallas Business Journal's Mergers and Acquisitions
Awards in 2005 and 2006, and is a Mentor to MBA students at Cox School of
Business, Southern Methodist University, Dallas. He is also a board member of
Dallas Business Club, and is an Advisory Board member of Circle 10 Council, Boy
Scouts of America.
