Previously Mary Ann was AVP, Competitive Analysis, with Countrywide Financial. She performed vital industry research and analysis in the very competitive financial services market. She was also instrumental in developing and maintaining the competitor intranet library.
Prior to working for Countrywide, Mary Ann worked for Balboa Insurance Group as Market Research Manager. There she implemented weekly company newsletters, authored many industry reports, and created a market research intranet. Mary Ann managed research projects and negotiated contracts with the many information vendors. She developed a market share calculation for the highly fragmented industry giving executives a better picture of true market size and the competitive landscape.
Mary Ann spent the first 15 years of her career in the utility industry. There she employed her creative ability to research new methods of electricity sales in preparation for market deregulation. She also centralized the regulatory reporting for all power plants and developed a new bottom-up forecasting model for energy demand.
She earned a master's in Business Administration from Northwest Missouri State University and a bachelor's degree in both Business and Data Systems from William Jewell College.
